Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

As though porsche doesn't have enough options already. Is there any options you wish you could get? Maybe something you saw on another car. My first wish would be red stitching in the seats, I think that would be so sweet. Saw a 550 Ferrari with it and it had in the dash, very cool. A steering wheel like the new Audi RS4. (it also has white stitching in the seats, very sexy interior all around in it) Definately a Cayman Power Kit like the one for the Carrera. But not too expensive like the one for the Carrera S raises hp from 355 to 381 but for $16,900 thats insane. Maybe like $5,000 for an extra 30 hp. But then again I'm sure there will be some great performance mods out there. Thats just a couple I can think of at the time. Any other wishes out there.

POST 2Original post

If Porsche charges $16K for 26hp increase on the 911 there won't be a 30hp bump for $5k from Porsche, BUT that will be very easy to do aftermarket for that price and HP. I too would like colored stitching, had it on my past 2 speed yellow cars, can't believe Porsche discontinued this option (unless you have it done as a one-off and it is way way too expensive for that IMHO). I'd like to see a better Nav system, larger screen in the center stack, less fussy buttons. Clear engine cover with engine bits painted - doing that aftermarket Lowered suspension - lower than the 10mm from PASM - aftermarket options are now available for the Boxster S for this should be soon for the Cayman S as well. Clear front side markers from the factory for US models - already have a set ready to replace the ugly amber ones. Alcantara headliner GT3 seats Rollbar / track belt bar. That's a few for starters... toss in a set of R-compound tires for track use...

POST 3Original post

I agree Porsche needs a better Navigation system. Perhaps one with a touch screen like Lexus. The DVD is improved over the CD based system I have now. Also, how about a heads up display similar to the one Chevrolet offers. I saw it on the Corvette and I think it is kinda nifty. Also a keyless entry system. The one Porsche previously offered 'Entry and Drive' failed miserably. Something like Mercedes where you carry a key card in your pocket and push start button.

POST 4Original post

Colored stiching. Deviated carpet option. More two tone interior options. Sunroof (ya, I still would like one) Sat radio. Starter button...........(but now that its become soooo common, maybe not.) In dash 6 disc changer. K-man S........where did you get the clear side markers?.......wouldn't mind getting ahead of the game here either.

POST 5Original post

I would like a larger gauge cluster, or at least an oil pressure guage within the fuel and temp guage. To me at least, the bestpart of the interiorin pre-996 911s was the instrument panel. I prefer analog pointers for information rather than warning lights.

POST 6Original post

I ordered clear side markers from Suncoast Porsche's e-parts sales, same place I got my Cayman model. I think they are $24.95 or $29.95 a pair.

POST 7Original post

Thanks.......I gather they are the same as for a 997 and 987??

POST 8Original post

How about a factory Carbon Mirror option? And how about not making it such a pain to get the wheels colored a different color than the body. I want red wheels for my white car! How about a factory aerokit? Direct plug in for the Ipod. I love the idea of an RS4 style wheel and the deviating stitching.

POST 9Original post

Atlas_Croc, ask you dealer to install the clear side markers before delivering you car. I've had them do it on my last 2.

POST 11Original post

What would you guys that want the aero kit to have with it? I guess I personally think the car already looks great and wouldn't need anything. Although I do kind of like the factory aero kit for the carrera ...so maybe just have the option to be able to see it on the porsche website when building
