Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Drew the conclusion from all the comments and after a check over by specialist to prove all fans working and temps were within tolerances that all was fine (normal behaviour)

not something i personally would advise to have fitted as i feel the car can run too cold .
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Appears to be normal bthen, i've now set my digital screen to show temperature (as per link T8 posted) so i'll see what readings i get over next wee while.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I would say if you've noticed even a slight change in the behaviour of the needle, start taking a closer look at the cooling system before thinking about swapping out the stat as that will just mask other potential issues that should be tackled first. Granted if you just want it running at a lower temp ignore the above
I had a pipe go recently and thought it was the glued in fittings, thankfully it wasn't, and have also recently changed the water pump, a couple of other pipes, header tank, caps etc just as a precaution when it started running very very slightly hotter than usual, (were talking where in the 0 of the 80 rather than anything drastic) it's now behaving again, and the pump had a tiny bit of float, and the bearing wasn't amazing but it had not lost any vanes so all good there.
hope this helps. (ps i run a lower temp stat in old 205GTI)
Cheers

Your temps are normal and it probably doesn't have an LTT fitted .. not something i personally would advise to have fitted as i feel the car can run too cold .
Fan speed 2 kicks in at about 103 as mentioned .. you are not even reaching that temp .
