Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
I've since had new conti tyres and the problem is still there.
Leading evidence: 'still there' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'still there' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check pressures' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I thought the same so checked the pressures and they were a bit low (hadn't checked in a while) and it did improve a bit, but it's still there....I think!

Suggestion
For an extra £5 per tyre , if you get a puncture or other damage which means the tyre needs replacing, they will give you a discount based on the amount of tread left on the tyre itself.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've noticed that my 996 has started tramlining a bit. I've only previously had this on cars when the front tyres have been excessively worn, but there is plenty left on mine. Any ideas? Or am I just imagining it?!
Its funny some one posted this question. I have had the same issue, but it has done it from the day I got it, so I have known no different. I run the pressures as set out in the hand book. But it tracks around quite a lot on uneven surfaces.

Tyres are Pirelli PZero Assimetrico, and they're only half worn
Yes,got exactly the same problem on our c4s,running on pirelli pzero's also, first time on these tyres, last three porsches run on conti

I too have the same issues which come and go with my pirelli p zero rosso's. I notice it less if running tyres at max pressures but i have read that many drivers run tyres about 2-6 psi less than max for a more even tyre wear and many state, a more comfortable drive!!!!!
I have the same problem. Someone once said it's too much negative camber. I had the alignment reset to factory standard by Porsche in Germany. It helped a little but wasn't cured. I've since had new conti tyres and the problem is still there. Is there a full cure? Can't keep changing half worn tyres!

In my experience on my C2 with 18" wheels it was worse with P-Zero Rossos once they had done a few thousand miles. I ended up with Michelins and they were much better - certainly the best tyre I tried in every respect.
On the Turbo I had P-Zero Rossos for a short while which were just as bad, then Contis, which I found to be worse, but the new Yokos are fine. I don't know yet if it's 'new tyre syndrome'.
I had Pirelli PZeros on my Carrera 4 when I first got it. When it came time to change, I put Michelin Sports (18") all round. It made, for me, a huge difference. Much quieter and comfortable and the car felt much more 'planted'. I'll be going with Michelin Sports again when it comes time to change.
Got all four fitted for around the £700 mark. I'm sure others may be able to beat that though with some haggling. OPC wanted over £1400 for the same tyres but, I was told that I would get new valves!
Where did you get pilot sport 2s for £700 got a price off opc exeter £930 all in and a price off protyre for £850 all in
didn't think that wasn't to bad

I got that from National Tyres, who said they would beat any other price I could find. And they did.
Kwikfit were around £30 more.
National Tyres also do a 'warranty'. For an extra £5 per tyre , if you get a puncture or other damage which means the tyre needs replacing, they will give you a discount based on the amount of tread left on the tyre itself. Sounded like a good deal to me.
Well, I've now checked my tyre pressures at another garage and it seems they were still underinflated, so the first garage's pressure gauge might have been out. i'm now at the proper 36/44 psi front/rear for the C4S and things seem much improved....I'll know more when I get it onto the dual carriageway where it was doing it the worst before
