Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

I have had the same problem (remote not working despite battery changes) for a while but fortunately do have a few seconds after unlocking before alarm goes off so I can switch the ignition on and disable the alarm.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

All the other locks remain on though (fuel cap, boot and passenger door) which can be a pain but I suppose has not been enough of an issue so far to be in a rush to get it fixed.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone. Whilst I am waiting to get my replacement key due to the PCB inside it once again knackered, every time I unlock the car manually the alarm goes off. Can I temporarily do something to enable me to lock and unlock the car without the alarm sounding. Many thaanks,

POST 2Original post

POST 3Original post

If it is like my '98 C2 was, it went off as soon as I turned the key in the door. I never found a way round it.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I didnt think there was a solution. Why isnt it as simple as other cars where you simply remove a fuse.
