Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Be carefull with the Trans-Go pressure regulator repair kit .....The ZF5HP19 valve body comes in an "early version" and a "later version" and at one time the Trans-Go pressure regulator repair kit only fits the "later version".......so check the trans # closely to the Trans-Go applications to make sure it is compatible...
Leading evidence: 'Check trans # closely' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check trans # closely' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You are correct, most Trans shops do a refresh of seals gaskets O-rings clutch packs pumps torque convertors and clean refresh the valve body, replace any "hard Parts" that show wear but fail to properly address wear in the valve body bores....

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm having some transmission issues before and after sending it out to be rebuilt (twice). Several error codes have shown up, including 3rd and 4th gear input speed not congruent with output speed. Prior to the rebuild, I was also getting a torque converter pressure error. The rebuild shop confirmed the pump was trashed and the rebuild included rebuilding the pump and torque converter.
What I am TRYING to do is use the PIWIS clone concept to hopefully get more data on what's happening, like fluid pressures, etc. To that end, I have the "$75 PIWIS 3" working, and there's definitely more data. However, nothing is related to pressure. I also don't see the ability to reset the solenoid timings which I previously paid a shop to do. There seem to be other potential tests that are missing.
I'm also trying to bring up PIWIS version 2, and have it running but not yet "imprinted" correctly. I'll probably eventually figure that out, but was curious if anyone has been able to get full functionality out of a PIWIS relative to this, or if there's a better option.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This car has been down for the count for several years now.
Seems the main problem with similar symptoms as you're having all stem from the valve body.
Many have gotten tranny rebuilds only to have the same problems. Something about leaky/faulty valves/internal o-rings that allow high pressure and blow out the pump/converter. IIRR PT3 explained it in detail something like this... valve bore wear in the VB pressure regulator causes very high pressure, it destroys o-rings in the torque convertor and also the excessive pressure will destroy the front pump.
Seems a typical normal tranny shop, tranny and valve body refresh cleanup rebuild will not fix the valve body problem. Trans-GO makes some updated valves for the 5HP19 ZF, thats the fix....
Thanks for the tips! Before I sent it off to get rebuilt the first time, I did drop the valve body and replace all the solenoids and such using a ZF kit. The shop was supposed to rebuild the valve body too though not replace the solenoids I had already replaced. I don't know if they did what you're talking about, which I assume is what's in this link:

Do you know of any way to get a reading on the fluid pressure?

thanks for remembering !!!! Sometimes I fell I am "pissing into the wind" ......I have mentioned this issue here many times...

To test the Tip System pressure ( pressure regulator function) you need a "manual pressure gauge" . to screw into the pressure port...There is no Sensor for a value to display in PIWIS.......
Sorry for missing the other posts on the valve body problems. I did try and find threads on this topic, but wasn't successful.
Likewise, I searched for a thread (or anything via Google) on where the pressure port is located and obviously what gauge would match up with this port. I get a ton of noise on A/C charging ports, which I understand is a more common operation.
Finally, I was surprised that PIWIS 3 didn't have any maintenance operations for the Tip. After I put in the ZF shifting kit (solenoids and such), I had a local shop reset the timings. Arguably I could do that again if I got that far, but I am not and may need to reset them several times as I work through this.
I appreciate the tips so far and anything else you can think of.
