Use narrow body wheels...to make them stick out more

spacers make the wheels stick out more....you would use spacers on a wide body when you use narrow body wheels...to make them stick out more.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is anyone aware of any Porsche turbo twist hollow spoke wheels that will fit a MY99 996 C2 narrow body?
I am interested in getting some lighter wheels and would like to keep the stock look. Also, I have looked at purchasing a set of 8x18 ET50 and 11x18 ET45; from what I've read the fronts are not a problem, but the rears won't fit (even with spacers?).
My car currently has 993.362.134.06 7.5Jx18 ET50 and 993.362.140.04 10J18 ET65. Which I don't believe are the correct wheels anyway...
Thanks

I'm aware of solid spoke turbo twists for narrow body but not hollow spokes..
depending on year....those wheels are correct....
as years went by...the 18 7.5 was widened to 18 by 8 from factory for the 18's.
if you want factory look and light...the 2002 5 spokes are the lightest factory 996 narrow body wheels
i just read you have my99....the 993 part number is correct for my99. you have the optional 18's. my99 standard was 17 i believe.
2002 5 spokes will have you 4-5lbs if i remember correctly per wheel.
For narrow body 996's you can use 11 inch rears but the recommended offset is 63. The turbo wheels have an offset of 45, so they will not fit.
There is a set of sport techno light weight wheels on ebay now. They have the 11 inch rears with the correct offset.
For my 99-01 you have to roll the fenders to get the 11 inch wheels to fit.
widebody turbo wheels fit, but you have to lower the car to get them to tuck under the fender. Fronts need spacers IMO.
Lots of pictures on page 1 and 2 here:

Those look like the solid-spoke 993 "Turbo Look" wheels. Are you sure they are the hollow spoke? Check the part numbers to be sure.
The 18" solid spoke turbo look wheels are:
Front: 7.5J x 18 - ET50 (p/n 993.362.134.06)
Rear: 10J x 18 - ET65 (p/n 993.362.140.04)
The turbo twist 1 wheels did come in both solid and hollow spoke designs for the narrow body offsets. These were 993 part numbers.
7.5 - 993.362.134.05 - ET50 - 8.6 kg
8 - 993.362.136.00 - ET52 - 8.9 kg
9 - 993.362.138.00 - ET52 - 10.2 kg
10 - 993.362.140.00 - ET40 - 11.4 kg
10 - 993.362.140.01 - ET65 - 10.6 kg
You can easily tell OEM hollow spoke wheels from the rear. Notice some aftermarket twist wheels look like hollow spoke so those don't apply. Below is an example of the 996 wheels but the 993 wheels are similiar in distinguishing from hollow and solid.
I do not think those are the light weight techno wheels.
I thought option code 408 is these wheels
But I don't remember ever seeing these wheels on a 993. If you get bored look for the part number.
Hollow spoke wheels that fit 99 C2 are
993.362.134.05 7.5j x 18 w/ OS 50
993.362.140.01 10 x 18 w/ OS 65
These will fit without spacers and tires up to 265 will fit the rear without rolling the fender lip. Wider may fit but you will need to try.

I ordered 2000 Boxster S with 18 Turbo Twists and they have different part numbers. 993.362.134.06 ET 50 7.5/18 and 993.362.138.01 ET52 9/18. Seems they are the same but with slightly different numbers. Probably because its a Boxster S.
It did surprise me when I first noticed the 993 #. Any idea how long the Turbo Twists were offered ?
Thanks for the info on hollow vs other.
I'll be the first to say I don't know anything about the different types of wheels. My original window sticker says I have "18" Lt Alloy Wheel- Turbo Look" with an extra cost of 1,190 dollars. Are these the SOLID or LIGHT or are these even the kinds of wheels this thread is about? I've attached a photo of the sticker under the hood, I also don't know what anything on it means. If one of you guys that knows about these things can enlighten me I would appreciate it.
I just posted a full set with near new tires for $2K spacers, lugs center caps etc.
send me an email and i'll provide pics of each.... denny dot lindsay at verizon dot net
I have Sport Techno (11x18 rear with 63mm offset and 295/30 tires) on my 2001 and I did not have to roll the fenders. I believe the same holds true of 99-2000 as well. There is a TSB on wheel sizes that states that fender rolling may be necessary, but with standard suspension setup, this seems to not be the case.
Just noticed this reply. I was referring to the fact that Boxsters have a different offset than the NB 996 so the appropriate one with the 65mm rear offset for example is going to have a different part number than the ones you posted with a lower offset which isn't compatible with the NB 996 models. I hope that clarifies things.
In 1999, the 18" Light Alloy Turbo Look Wheels for $1,190 are option 413, not option 408. The 408 rims are the 993 holdover rims which are 18" Wheels w/Technology Rims for $1,685. The 413 Turbo Look rims were more popular because of price.
I have a set of 993/996 NB hollowspoke that I don't need and was planning to sell at some point. Let me know if anyone is interested. I don't remember if they are 7.5 or 8.0 in the front...rears are 10"...I have them in storage and will check this weekend.
