Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone else bought one of these? http://www.ecutool.com/search.asp?categoryid=35&pclass=3501&keyword=Porsche&Submit2=Search I bought it a few months ago with a bit of scepticism that it would be any good at the price (about $40 incl. postage). Have had good need for it in the last few weeks and it seems to do what it says on the tin. Dave Jones

POST 2Original post

It isn't a PIWIS tester - I have seen lots of these and it is a copy of the Durametric tester. Don't try to update the software by downloading it from the Durametric site, as it is very likely it will stop working.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will bear that in mind Richard. Seems OK at present with provided software but it was a tentative purchase and do subscribe to the opinion that things that are too good to be true usually are. DJ

POST 4Original post

The software they supply with that one is 2007, so is far from the latest. The newest version of Durametric has quite a few more features, and will do some basic coding, but I guess for that money you could put up with it. Typical Chinese though, the way they use the name PIWIS, and supply old Durametric software.

POST 5Original post

Unless I am missing something the site looks a bit dodgy.
