Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi Car in question: Cayman 2008 Gen 1. CDR-24 (Does NOT require a lock code) 1) I didn't drive car for 2 weeks 2) The car initially didn't open with key button and had to be open manually. 3) The car started fine and after a short drive the key worked in opening and locking the car. However... 4) The red light on the side of the head-unit (alarm light) doesn't switch off and continues to flash when car is unlocked and ignition is on. The radio buttons and volume don't work either, although the AC, PSM, temp control and other buttons work just fine. 5) pulling out D9/D10 fuses for 20secs in the fuse box doesn't help 6) disconnecting the battery and reconnecting fixes the problem, but after the ignition is turned off again and then back on, the problem returns. 7) battery and alternator check shows that both are fine. Recently full service 1 month ago. Any ideas? Edit - the problem seems to be identical to this - https://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-and-boxster-electronics/114580-cdr-24-does-not-respond.html https://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-and-boxster-electronics/27298-cdr-24-anti-theft-activated.html

Ok, so I made some progress. I disconnected the battery for an hour and reconnected. The radio seems to be working, but I get 2 beeps every time I switch radio stations followed by the message "FM-FIX" and non of the buttons at the top seem to work (TP, SOUND, CD etc) see below for the video I made demonstrating this VIDEO
