Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car has sprung a leak! It seems that coolant is dribbling out the front driver's side radiator somewhere. Is getting the front bumber off and then swapping out the rads the sort of job that can be done in the drive with a few tools, or is there more to it and I should drop it into a proper garage?

POST 2Original post

Yes you can do this yourself. There are instructions somewhere on ths site on how to remove the PU (bumper), good luck - I've just sprung a leak in my engine compartment so you're in good company! :thumb:

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It is obviously just "that" time of year! Once the PU is off does anyone know if doing the radiator straightforward as well? A linky to the instructions for the bumper would be handy if someone knows where they are, my search was fruitless....

POST 4Original post

I'll have a search for you when I get a mo. There is one tricky screw on the inside of the wheel arch, but generaly it's fairly easy to do. I swapped out the aircon condensers last year but haven't actually done the rads myself. You may also want to change the rubber hoses in the front at the same time. Ray 8)

POST 7Original post

Make sure when you put new rads on, you change ALL the hoses as well. I had all new rads and hoses put on mine back in Nov last year.

Another useful link for bumper removal. Easy job. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=37139&highlight=bumper+guide

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In the end I decided that it was better to be safe than (expensively) sorry and so on Thursday I took it to JZ Machtech who sorted out the new rad after i crossed their palm with silver. On the plus side they gave it a wash which was nice as it was filthy and today i was able to mooch about town in a shiny car with the roof down JZ were a couple of hundred pounds cheaper than OPC Chiswick even after that they had thought about their first price and reduced it, so well worth the effort to get up to Kings Langley

POST 10Original post

Pleasedit's sorted - yes I agree JZM are great guys! Ray
