Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

For Revere light, I tapped into the Blue / Black wire in the Trunk wire bundle on the left side under the carpeting and ran the wire to the front radio.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I am installing a Pioneer AVIC-8201 in my 2013 Boxster 987 that did not have navigation installed. I bought the highly recommended Suncoast after-market radio installation kit (standard) and am very close to finished. The problems? Two wires remain unattached: "reverse" for the back-up camera and "speedometer" to increase volume at higher speeds. Also, there is not enough room to push the radio in completely with the aftermarket harness. I can't tap into either "reverse light" fuse for the back-up camera since those fuses also control the rear lighting. I could tap into the "instrument panel" fuse for the speedometer, but I am not convinced this connection will not truly connect to pulsed speedometer readings. I also have the "illumination" wire that I have tapped to the appropriate fuse, but I'd rather not have so much fuse-tapping. It makes much more sense to pin these wires directly into the existing wire harness that used to connect to the PCM 3.1 . However, I don't know which harness wire is which! Based on the after-market harness. the only pins to which these spare wires could attach are in the blue and/or green slots (see photos). The first 3 show orientation on the existing wire harness, the last two show close-up from the underside of green, then underside of blue. I can solve both of my problems by pinning wires straight into the existing harness, I just need to know which existing harness wire is "reverse," "speedometer" and "illumination." Any ideas? Thank you!

There is NO speedometer wire in the harness. You will have to tap into the ABS control module in the Frunk. I could not find the correct wire so I did not connect it. BTW if you have a 2013 Boxster , you have a 981 NOT a 987. For Revere light, I tapped into the Blue / Black wire in the Trunk wire bundle on the left side under the carpeting and ran the wire to the front radio. This wire does not lead into the wiring harness either.
