Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, Had a problem starting recently so got battery and alternator checked and both were OK. So only thing to check is loose connections/bad earth/starter motor. Can anyone advise on the positioning of the starter and is it easy to get at??? The problem seems to have gone away at present so i suspect dirty solenoid or motor brushes as the car does not get used enough[&:] but i would like to check the wiring and maybe have the starter off for a check. You have to remove the throttle body to get at the starter motor. If you would like the instructions, drop me an email and I'll attach them to a reply.
