Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
I have since had the original set resprayed with satin black so I am hoping these work out better.
Leading evidence: 'Set resprayed' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set resprayed' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My wheel nuts are really letting down the look of my car, a bit rusty looking, anyone changed to stainless nuts.... your views and opinions on differing products are greatly appreciated
Cheers Paul
I think shiny nuts can look a bit bling on Porsche...I have the matt black ones. Dont know what they're made of but every tyre fitters thinks they are plastic they are soooo light. What was original colour spec :?:
The 996 wheel bolts are notorius for oxidation. If you want some longer lasting/better looking ones, try somewhere like Type 911. You will have to pay for 20 bolts, but it saves changing them every 3 years.
I bought a set of black bolts [I think the finish was jappaned] but they went rusty after 3 months.
I have since had the original set resprayed with satin black so I am hoping these work out better. :dont know:
TB
Thanks for confirming TB. Wonder why they changed? Any advantage nuts vs bolts other than OPCs being able to charge more probably?
I do find with nuts that whipping wheels on and off is easy.
Design 911 have a deal on Design Tek stainless bolts including 4 locking ones for £159, I bought them and they look much better than the rusty ones I took off.
You could look into sandblasting and chroming the old ones but I am not sure this would be any cheaper. Yellow pages - metal plating
Thank You
Thanks, This is the sort of thing i was after, oxidised nuts dont look good (they just went 'rusty' on my Subaru :?: ) are the stainless very 'blingy' then or are they a class act...??
Cheers Paul
(pops off to look at design tech site)
I went down the route of getting the chrome caps
They cost £15 IIRC and really do look good :thumb:
If I get time tomorrow and if its light when I get home I'll take a pic if you want? Much better than forking out £150!
