Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A few requested a photo of the job I did on my calipers using Smoothrite by Hammerite. Here is the finished job. They look really good IMO, kinda got a plastic coated look about them.

POST 2Original post

hi, the result looks good. have you tried them out under heavy braking yet? it's just that i did the same a number of years back with my subaru and after a 'spirited' drive the paint started smoking badly

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I painted my 986 ones in the same way, lasted all the time I owned the car (18 months) and I really didn't hang around. I did use about 5 coats though. I know track days can be a different story but that can even damage the OE finish. Although I did give the Boxster some stick at Donny and even though I went through a set of front pads the calipers remained perfect.

POST 4Original post

think it must be the that porsche's brakes are far superior, on a ventilation and heat dissipation front, than the scoobie's. thinking back the scoobie's brakes were a bit of an after thought.... :?:

POST 5Original post

Looking good. I think you mentioned elsewhere maybe, but how did you do the Porshce logo...sticker or template? Cleaning mine up I've found its just the lacquer that peels off the black so might try to do something even short term to get that sorted with high temp lacquer spay I've seen (withstands 450degC).

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I went on the net, found the logo, printed it off, measured the orginal sticker then got a signs place to make some in a decent material. I pressure wash regular and they don't budge. :thumb:
