Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Aloha All... My 987 Boxster arrived today, exactly one month after the purchase in Chandler, AZ. Pretty pissed at the shipping, as I had the seats covered in plastic work covers and some moron pulled it off. Now the driver's seat has deep abrasions and scratch marks. They also managed to rub the top in several places. Anyway, will see what the damage estimates are and if Matson will pay up. Okay, need a little help, Hawaii requires a safety inspection and the decal needs to go on the rear of the car, by the plate. I ordered a metal plate to attach to the license and it won't work, not enough room to the side. The bumper protrudes all around the plate area and I will need something special to hang from the plate. I've looked on this forum and online. I'm thinking I need something bent to go under the plate and over the bumper. I obviously don't want to put the sticker on the paint. Anyone know where I could obtain what I'm looking for?

POST 2Original post

That is tricky getting the inspection sticker near the license plate with the way the 987 bumper is configured. I think your only solution is ( as you stated ) to have an inspection sticker “ holder “ bent to hang underneath the license plate. Not sure if this bracket from Amazon will help. https://www.amazon.com/Hawaii-Safety-License-Bracket-Vertical/dp/B0172EX4TU Also, here’s on old thread I found from another site that may help. https://********.com/forums/911-forum/640874-taking-a-cruise-to-hawaii.html If you can’t find an easy solution you may want to ask PCA members in your area, got to your local dealer or Indy shop and see if the can provide a clean solution. I’m not sure if the bracket shown in the attached photo will work since you have a center exhaust but it maybe helpful. Finally, sorry to hear about the interior damage during shipping, I hope it gets resolved quickly.

POST 3Original post

We just visited Maui a couple of weeks ago and saw those inspection stickers and we both said, "not on my car!", good to see that there are some options, the metal plate being the best so far... Good luck!

POST 4Original post

There are several types of brackets available for the safety inspection decal. They vary in material (carbon fiber, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.) and mounting placement. They are available at a number of different shops (many safety inspection stations have them). For myself, as my former place of employment required parking decals to be placed on both the front and rear bumpers, I just placed the safety inspection decal on the bumper too.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
