Wait a bit more (6k more miles) and do a 12.000 or just do an annual check now ?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, I would like to do the OPC annual service - car was driven ( mainly because was out of operations with a faulty clutch for 3 months ) less than 7.000 miles last year. What exactly entails the annual service ? You know, the 114 pounds thing ? Its just a checkup ? Or some parts are changed ?

POST 2Original post

annual service is a vehicle health check basically , lights levels top up if necessary check the state of the rest of the car and give you a list a mile long :hand:

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so it will preferable to go to an indy and do a minor service and spend 250 quid and do a minor service rather than pay OPC 120 quid for a check ? Thing is , car had a major service on june 2008 with LOADS of extras done > engine oil, brake fluid, fuel filter, air filter, bla bla bla and this was at 36k. Car is now at 43.3k so what should I do ? Wait a bit more (6k more miles) and do a 12.000 or just do an annual check now ? And if I do the annual check, when the car has to be serviced again ? 12k after the service ? or at 48k ( 12.000 after the last time had a major ) ?

POST 4Original post

i would wait till you either hit 12,000 miles since last service or till june 09 whichever arrives first then get a minor carried out...

POST 5Original post

Hmm, my 996 was OPC Minor Serviced April 2008, since then it has been off the road for 4 months and I have done 4,500 miles since. I am not going to do 12,000 miles by April 2009, so it will have probably only done 5,500 miles by that time in a year. Do I REALLY have to do a major service in April 2009? I am sure my service book says that you can do it every 2 years if you dont use it much
