Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I would check faults, and check fuel trim values to see if the car is running rich or lean.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I just bought a 2005 997.1 S. The mileage is high but the car has full dealer service records and the engine has no abnormal noises but when driving off immediately after cold start under light acceleration there is a bad hesitation / flat spot. This only lasts during initial warm up between approx. 1800 - 2500 rpm. shortly after warm up all is well and no issues. No lumpy idle or misfiring and no CEL illuminated at any time and engine starts no problem. The issue will not occur again till another cold start. I.e. overnight parking. If I let the engine warm up for 10 minutes before driving I don't experience the problem. __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here:

POST 2Original post

Sounds like a fuel pressure problem that is being compensated by the DME when warmed up. I would check faults, and check fuel trim values to see if the car is running rich or lean. - Casey
