Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Traditional paint + clear coat will do a better job of the repair *if* it's applied perfectly, which is very very hard to do.

I ordered a paint repair kit from drcolorchip.com to get rid of road rash.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I picked a couple chips that were out of the way and wouldn't be noticeable in the event that it didn't work as stated.
I ordered a paint repair kit from drcolorchip.com to get rid of road rash. I've been waiting for warm weather to make sure that it gets a fair chance.
I picked a couple chips that were out of the way and wouldn't be noticeable in the event that it didn't work as stated. The results are astounding! I can't even locate where the chips were to begin with. Its a basic 1-2-3 process - paint, seal, polish with the microfiber rag (all provided).
That being said, I ordered another kit for my wifey's lexodus, after she saw what I did on the pCar (seal gray), she said "I have chips on mine too...". No problema. It's too easy to fix them to look good as new.
Two thumbs up, one for Dr. Colorchip and one for Rennlisters for pointing me to the site.
I'll see what I can do this weekend. I have a good macro lens & tripod, so I'll put together an "unretouched" show and tell.
Oh, BTW, I have no affiliation with drcolorchip. Just a happy customer.
It works but at a 2ft view. Look a little closer and you'll see the chip. It doesn't get rid of the chip, rather it fills it the best it can with the correct paint color, the secret sauce is in the second chemical that clears the over paint that you do outside the chip. I'd buy it again.
Agree with Eharrison. I used the kit and was frankly disappointed.
Perhaps I'm doing it wrong but to fill in the chips it causes a blob that presumably you blot out but the results leave quite a bit to be desired. I finally left my chips be.
I agree with Ed. For small chips its works as billed. But significant holes >1/2 cm you will be disappointed. It colors the undercoat but does not fill in the holes.
The dealerships sell a Porsche paint repair kit that's the paint and clear coat. Haven't used it yet but one of the guys said it works good but make sure you follow the instructions.
Dennis, I did not find that this happened to me.
I have used it on graphite metallic and Arena red with about equal outcomes. It's not perfect, but certainly hides the imperfections from more that a couple of feet away.
Traditional paint + clear coat will do a better job of the repair *if* it's applied perfectly, which is very very hard to do. I tried it and would not do it again, best left to the pros. You need a clean room, you have to be comfortable wet sanding your clear, etc.
