Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi i have 2001 996 TURBO COUPE, When you turn ignition on the windows go down and interior lights in the doors stay on,you can put the windows back up but they can randomly go down whilst driving, but the lights in the door are allways on when driving. Anyone have any ideas what this could be. :?:

POST 2Original post

One of the microsensors in the door locking mechanism has probably gone. If you have a warranty then it will be covered. If not expect a bill for about £300.

POST 3Original post

Ouch :wall: This is just confirming to me why I should renew my warranty with the OPC in the summer!

POST 4Original post

is it both the windows that drop, if so it sounds like you may have a faulty alarm ecu, i would check for damp under passenger seat too.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes it is both windows,i reckon it could be the alarm box too ,ill take a look and let you know the result.
