I haven't had the problem, but I use my Dension unit with a CDR24 on my 06CS.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After working with Dension Tech support, the problem is solved.
I have a 2006 Cayman with PCM with the dension Gateway 500. I like what I see when the iPod is working. My question is, has anyone had any problems with version 2.03 of the dension software. I have to disconnect and connect my iPod everytime I turn the key off to get the ipod to register. I hope it's just a user error, but it's frustrating. Just thought I would check and see if anyone else had that problem.
Make sure your iPod has the latest software updates from iTunes or Apple.com. I've never heard of that issue. I don't really like software version 2.03 though... I'm thinking of reverting back to 1.00.

Thanks for the replies. I went back to version 1.0 and it registers every time, but the detail is missing? I hope I can figure out what the problem is. Going to the dealer about another problem. Maybe they will have some insight. Thanks again, Snyd
jhellow,
Are you using a second generation Nano iPod? I'm thinking it's a compatability problem. I tried ver 2.02 and still had the problem. Ver 1.0 works, but I lose some detail such as Artist Lists, Album Lists, and such. Again, if I turn the car off with ver 2.??, I have to unplug and plug in the ipod to get it to register. Then it works like it's supposed to. Thanks for your help, Snyd
I am using on of the new 8gig Nano's. I can try to see of my son's new video iPod has the same problem. However, I definitiely did not have this problem with frimware versions 2.02 beta or release.

Hm, I haven't heard about this problem.
If you are an still an enterprising user, we can try a "spy" FW, which help us understand what's happening with those iPods.
GW500,
Thanks for your input. I'm up for anything that might solve the problem. Maybe it's just a setting in the iPod or something? Let me know what you think. Thanks, Snyd
Hello everyone,
After working with Dension Tech support, the problem is solved. It was an installation problem. Th GW should not be wired to a switched power source. The documentation is clear, but my installer just assumed that a switched power source would be correct. I'm sure that he is not the only one, since it makes sense. You can tell if you have the GW wired incorrectly if there is no bin file on the USB stick when updating the software to a higher version that 1.?. I did notice that software version 1.0 did write the file though? I appreciate everyones comments and especially GW500's since he was the one who came up with the solution.
Thanks again,
Snyd
2.03 locks out the iPod controls for me. I want to revert back to 1.05 or maybe try 2.02. I can't find the files anywhere. Do you have a link?
Thanks,
Jeff
I may be trying to teach my grandmother to suck eggs but...
..if the ipod is connected through the cd changer control is the unit itself on "random".
Have not got my cayman yet so not clear on the controls but on my ice link on my Audi I have to ensure the random function on the head unit is not activated as it switches the ipod every time.
Sorry if this is simplistic, most of the technical stuff goes way over my head (thats why I have kids - to do this stuff for me)
I use the cd changer pins that are in the trunk. I don't think it is switched (b/c the radio will work with it without the key in the ignition). I still don't get the file on the drive when it a flash is completed.
