I would set the unit to control iPod from the headunit not the iPod itself, and you should see all your disk options come back up.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I got my Dension GW500 installed in a CS with CDR24, Bose no CDC. The guy who installed it couldn't do a full test as the garage hadn't enabled the CDC, even though they claimed they had. I drove to the garage and they did it on the spot and my ipod kicked in, but it's doing something really weird with shuffle and repeat options. I eventually worked out what it is doing: - when I switch on the stereo it moves the iPod onto the next shuffle option e.g. if it is on 'Songs' it goes to 'Albums', and if on Albums it goes to 'off' and so on. - when I switch off the stereo it moves the iPod onto the next repeat option e.g. All-Single etc This is making it hard to listen to music, especially when the single repeat option is on....... When the engineer first connected the iPod (without the CDC enabled i.e no sound) the iPod displayed the Dension screen/logo and said 'don't use ipod', but now it's showing the normal iPod screen i.e. I can control from the iPod. Is this what is causing the problem? I have to get the same guy to come out again to finish my sat nav installation - what do I tell him to do to fix things? Also, can you confirm: - should I see song details on the stereo display? - Should I see the artist (disc 3) option? All I see is disc 1 (playlist), and the album disc (although the FF/REW only moves through playlist tracks it's not moving through albums :-( ) Thanks for any help. EB

POST 2Original post

I don't have much experience with the CDR24 and Dension unit; you cannot get track information on the stereo from the iPod onto the cdr24. Also, try disconnecting your ipod, turning off shuffle and turning off repeat and plugging it in to see if it keeps doing it. I would set the unit to control iPod from the headunit not the iPod itself, and you should see all your disk options come back up. - Suneet

Which version do you have? This kind of problem was corrected in 2.03. (The latest available version is now 2.05, of course it contains that correction.)

POST 5Original post

Sorry to hi-jack your thread GW500, should there be any compatible issues with the new ipods like the ipod classic. It has a new GUI, I gave it a try and it seem to work fine. It no longer says "ok to disconnect ipod" and it looks like it does not show the versions at start-up. Also how does the ipod should behave after the car is turned off?

POST 6Original post

got it-right at the end of the manual - thanks. I would have been happy just to use playlists as scanning by artist/album will be hard without text, but I might need it occassionally, and it will be handy being able to switch between UI and GI.
