Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Initially I thought it was the dripping of condensation from the aircon, but feels slightly oily and tastes like crap!

If not you may try to get them perfect when you replace the pu and it wouldn't happen.

One month after replacing, the other radiator now has a pinhole leak.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just noticed some dripping from under the nearside front spoiler of my car.
Initially I thought it was the dripping of condensation from the aircon, but feels slightly oily and tastes like crap!
It's dripping slowly but consistently.
As far as I know I havent hit anything.
Before I take the pu off or take it to a garage, any initial ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Rob
My guess would be dripping from a radiator. If it has a slightly oily feel it is probably coolant, or if it is bright green then likely aircon refrigerant. Either way, you are right that is a PU off and investigate job.
Bloody marvellous,
had same recently. Stupid me, thought i would change 3 out of the four radiators as they were in extremely poor condition. One month after replacing, the other radiator now has a pinhole leak.
Chances are, you have a pinhole leak which when running for a little while will spurt out and literally run off the pu.
Good luck.
Thanks Richard,
Checked the brake fluid and washer bottle, both ok.
The coolant was low so topped it up, maybe <1 litre of water. Left it running and no further leakage. Did a short drive this evening so will check coolant tomorrow.
Couldn't regas air con last year, wouldn't hold the gas fully and I know one of the rads in in poor condition.
It was definitely a greenish colour, not very bright but fairly clear.
I have switched the aircon off now as a precaution.
Cheers,
Rob
Pu removal is a one man job and should take only 15-20 minutes. Look in the technical section for a How to. Just make a note of the panel gaps around the headlights before you do. If not you may try to get them perfect when you replace the pu and it wouldn't happen.
If you type in porsche 996 front bumper removal into you tube, you will get a video which you can freeze as you do the job.
I find these videos excellent and have found I have saved loads of money. However, before starting I would strongly advise to jack up the front of the car for ease of access to fittings on lower edge of pu. Probably best to remove the front wheels also. Once you have done this a couple of times, you can do with tyres in place etc,
good luck,
ps
Cheapest place to purchase radiators and air con rads is Porsche Apart. I think rads were £127 and air con rads £99, at least half to a third less than Porsche. They are also OEM.
