I've replaced the leads, checked the iPod has the latest updates, etc, but it still does it occasionally.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2014 Cayman with PCM... the system frequently locks up my iPod. I have to 'reboot' my iPod to get it working and occasionally the PCM reboots itself when everything locks up mid journey. I've replaced the leads, checked the iPod has the latest updates, etc, but it still does it occasionally. Does anyone else have the same issue?

POST 2Original post

Had very similar issues with my iPod Classic 6th gen in my 2011 BMW. It can be worth checking if there are firmware / software updates for either the ipod or the in car system. As it only happened infrequently, I just resigned myself to it and wrote it off as an Apple quirk. It may even be that whatever generation of ipod you have is not intended to work with the version of in car system you have and the fact it works at all is just an accident...

POST 3Original post

My 2014 Cayman also likes ot play silly buggers with the iPhone...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like I'll have to put up with the might of Apple fighting the might Porsche and their PCM supplier!
