If the tank itself has split, it costs about £100 and takes an hour to change IIRC.

Just had a service and was told that my coolent header tank is leaking (carrera 4 trip) and would like to know if this is a common problem, ie fixable or to replace the tank istelf, if so how difficult :?:

There are 2 problems that surface. One is the screw cap leaking and the other is the tank splitting. There is an updated screw cap which supposedly fixes the cap leaking. If the tank itself has split, it costs about £100 and takes an hour to change IIRC.

mine split last year. bought the part myself and took to local garage as i didnt have time to fiddle. like nx says i hours labour. £30-00. opc price £225 + vat .

Mine split - it's not a warranty item either - most probably because there's a design fault with the original :dont know: . :roll:
