I know any old dot-one 996/986 vent cassette will do the trick, but everything I see on eBay either looks suspect or comes across as suspect after reading the description.

Hi, all. Does anyone have a *reliable* source for air vent louvers and (for lack of a better term) the up-and-down pin connecting them? I know any old dot-one 996/986 vent cassette will do the trick, but everything I see on eBay either looks suspect or comes across as suspect after reading the description. Meanwhile, the Suncoast/Pelican option is a $400+ dash vent assembly which is a little rich for my blood, not to mention more than I need. Thanks much for the help. Both me and my OCD appreciate it.

I got a used replacement set (driver's side/left) from eBay. Check the eBay pictures first before purchasing. My original vane's up and down adjustment lever broke from age.

Before and after shots are always helpful. I also cleaned out a bunch of diverter foam during the replacement. I already did the diverter fix (one of the first things I fixed on the car when I got it). A bonus is that the eBay replacement was in better condition than my original vent unit.

DC Auto is also liquidating. They r a recycler in NC.
