Turns out to be the main aluminium pipes which run front to back, corroded enough to cause a big leak.

The Porsche dealer, did a pressure test on the coolant system and found the fault.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As this was the 1st nice day we've had for a while I decided to go for a nice drive, went to fill up with fuel and came back to clean the car however the smell of coolant was evident.
Went to the front of the car, had a sniff nothing - opened the engine cover and noticed the level had dropped slightly, looked underneath and coolant was pi$$ing out near the centre of the car????
The last time I drove the car was when I had an OPC 111 point check and they found the coolant gasket on the head to be weeping!!
Could they have disturbed something in that area, is there something around there which would leak??
Thanks in advance folks
Rick
I had the same thing it turned out to be the top/lid of the coolant header tank...
as the car heated up the pressure would force the coolant to come out of the top
when you came back and parked up, you couldn't see any fluid but you could smell it !
The Porsche dealer, did a pressure test on the coolant system and found the fault.
maybe worth checking..
Thanks for that, I did look at the header tank before I looked underneath and it was dry - it has now stood overnight and drained the whole of the header tank!!
Ring up the OPC tomorrow and see what they say, might be an RAC callout
Thanks all
Just experienced a similar problem myself. In my case it is the main hose on the RHS of the engine. The pipe has rubbed against the bodywork and worn through. If you refill your system and get the car up to temperature have a look underneath and you should be able to see where the leak is coming from. Be sure to wear protective glasses as the steam can give you serious burns!

Turns out to be the main aluminium pipes which run front to back, corroded enough to cause a big leak. Unfortunately it's quite a big job @ 10 hours labour and £1400 bill. Surely their 111 point check would find thing like this, what else may I find another 100 miles down the road???
Not sure how easy or hard it'd be myself, I'm fairly competent but not having had a look under the covers I don't know what's there. They say the fuel tank has to come off??
Plus I'd juest brimmed the tank before the coolant spill
I would always use new parts as you don't want to have to do the job again. Try an Indie for costs - they're bound to be cheaper.
I can recommend JZM for this type of work.
