Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought a 911 996 C2 last year in good faith from what I thought to be a reputable dealer. I was assured during the buying process that it was a UK car, but I have now discovered that it is a C26 Singapore car. Does anyone know if these were imported by Porsche - as sometimes happens when stock is low in one country - or would this car have been a private import? I have had the car insured as a UK vehicle since buying it so need to get some facts right about its origin. Any help would be great.

POST 2Original post

Hmm, sorry to hear this M1 TVV. Might be worth gving Porsche GB a call/email with your chassis number to hand and they might be able to give you the desired info? Taran :?:

POST 3Original post

I would be contacting the dealer, a non C16 car is worth less and if you paid top dollar for it you are going to be out of pocket. A colleague of mine was in a similar situation with an M3 a couple of years ago. He was sold the car in good faith but when he came to sell it he realised it hadn't had the running in service done, and as such lost £3k on the sale  I'm not to clued up on the codes, maybe it is fine and dandy, but I would ring Porsche all the same just to make sure.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have contacted Porsche and they were very informative. The car was designated for South Africa, but was imported by PCGB before it got there. Porsche GB also gave me the complete list of the extras that the car came with, so i now know what was genuine and what was retro-fitted.

POST 5Original post

A question for M1TVV. On your option code do you have M061 listed ? My C4S has a country code of C98 on the bonnet sticker, a car destined for Cyprus. However on the extensive options list kindly run off by Cardiff OPC parts chappy, it was pointed out that the car bears the code M061 = ''Version for Great Britain" Whats does it all mean then :?: If its a non C16, but is still spec'd for Great Britain would you necessarily down value it ? My insurer is happy its a UK spec car.
