Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi guys got my car pluged in its missing on cylinders 4 5 6 has any one got a cylinder diagrame or lay ou so i dont make more work for my self cheers[ ]

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheers rich any reason why 4,5 ,6 would go down like that ???

POST 4Original post

Do you have the fault codes? As it is affecting the whole bank, it might be a Variocam solenoid problem, or maybe an oxygen sensor. The codes would help track it down.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi rich i will get the codes is it worth changing the coil packs on that side also ??

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

also what sort of money is variocam solenoid is it a diy job ??

POST 7Original post

You will probably be able to check the coil packs just by looking at them. The insulation cracks and flakes. Not likely that all three have gone on one side, but none on the other. That's why I think it is something that affects all the cylinders on one bank. An O2 sensor is a DIY job, albeit they rust into the exhaust, and can be difficult to free up. If it is the Variocam solenoid it isn't really a DIY job, but it might just be the solenoid coil which has failed, and I have also seem two cases of where the wires to the coil have chafed through and broken. If you do a search for a post by steveoz32 about 6-7 months ago, he had some good photos of the location. Like I said, post up the codes and I'll look them up to see if it can be narrowed down where to start.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
