Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all I'm thinking of having a short shift kit fitted to my 996. Those of you have done so and have thought about it, please give me your comments please. Thanks Andy

POST 2Original post

I fitted a B&M "style" one yesterday to my 996. Quite an easy logical job to do, transforms the shift and makes it much more "mechanical" and sporting feeling shift.

POST 3Original post

I have the Manthey short shift and can't imagine the car without it. In fact, it feels how the car "should" feel so I'd surely be disappointed knowing what it would have felt like before (it was fitted to the car before I got it). The Manthey one can be had from JZ Machtech if you're interested.

POST 4Original post

I 've had the 997ssk fitted to my turbo... its nice.. better than the 996 for sure.... but had i not been thinking of the wtee i'd have gone with the Manthey job also !
