I did a few searches in the forums and people love the PS2 for comfort and durability but changing all 4 for them its quite a strecht...

Suggestion

are the fact the range does update and old supply is no longer available thus you may only want to change your tyres on a single axle but because they are no longer made you risk a mix, unless you change the lot !

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, Going to give a last goodbye to my tyres a last goodbye in a trackday and then replacing them. Im facing these options : Pirelli PZERO Assimetrico N3 Pirelli PZERO Rosso N5 Michelin Pilot Sport XL N1 ( non PS2 ) Also, the Pirellis have the XL version, which is for increased load.. justifiable ? Good to have ?? What is the difference between the Assimetrico's an the Rossos ? I did a few searches in the forums and people love the PS2 for comfort and durability but changing all 4 for them its quite a strecht...

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

And even can add the Continental Sport Contact N2 to the lot as well. I want a tyre that is comfortable, grippy and last long with low road noise...

POST 3Original post

The PS2 is the best IMO. Whats the price differential?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I checking and the best fitted including disposal bla bla is : PZERO ROSSOS : 740 pounds all 4 PZERO ROSSOS + DIREZZIONALES in the front ( superior setup by Pirelli ) : 780 CONTINENTAL : 810 PS2 : 1100....

POST 5Original post

Out of that choice, Continentals every single time.

POST 6Original post

what was the tyre new from the factory? Pirelli?

POST 7Original post

I've just fitted the new MPS2 N3's to my 996TT. Very happy with them so far

POST 8Original post

me too (Mich PS2's), today in fact. I have no idea if I'm happy with them or not at this point....... bag of sand all in before anyone asks.

POST 10Original post

only pain with Pirelli PZERO are the fact the range does update and old supply is no longer available thus you may only want to change your tyres on a single axle but because they are no longer made you risk a mix, unless you change the lot !

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

boys and girls, so far I got a good deal on the Continental's Sport Contact N2 - on par with the Pirelli prices... are they good tyres ? I never used Continental and the reports I had from them is that they wear too quickly. Honestly I want a grippish tyre that last long and its not noisy.

POST 12Original post

Then you want Michelin? My only experience of Conti's was on my M3 and they were shocking in the wet. actually I would imagine dry weather performance on all these tyres, on a road, is very marginal. It's wet weather performance that is the big differentiator.

POST 13Original post

Were they Sport Contact 1 on your M3? If so, I agree - shocking in the wet, but the SC2s that I have on my 996 are the complete opposite... They consistently win wet weather grip tests (amongst the N-rated tyres at least). I've never tried Michelins, but I have been told they are not as good as the Conti SC2 in the wet, and don't last as long either? :?: (And they cost a lot more)

POST 15Original post

although range to range, 996 to 993, 17" to 18" the same specific tyre brand can be very different and of course manufacturing has an impact I've always found Michelin's very good on 996's, I currently run Toyo's R888's although different sets have felt different Conti's are however a harder compound and do (supposed to) last slighter longer.
