Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi guys. Over here in Germany its getting pretty damned cold and they have a sort of semi-law that you need winter tyres on your car. I have looked around for wheel and tyre sets but the prices are pretty ridiculous for the 2 or 3 months I will need them. So I was wondering if there was any way to fit a set of 986 Boxster wheels on my Cayman S as they are very cheap used, maybe with a set of spacers or something? Anyone any ideas? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Is That "The" Stig or just plain Mr Stig....anyway there have been a few threads about Winter Tyres but photos of Boxster II 17" on a cayman below http://www.motordrive.com/acatalog/boxterfront-500.jpg and http://www.motordrive.com/acatalog/DSCN2356-500.jpg

POST 3Original post

Well Mr or miss or Mrs Tickle (i used to love the Mr Men) thanks for your reply but the links are not working. Ps. My Grandad was from Horwich!!

POST 4Original post

Ok cool links working now thanks. Did you have to do anything special to mount them, spacers etc??

POST 5Original post

Wheels off the facelift Boxster go straight on without fouling anything, but the rears could stand a 20 or 25mm spacer to make it look better. Early Boxster rims foul the calipers and need spacers front and rear.

POST 6Original post

Nice one thanks. Off to trawl through ebay now

POST 7Original post

I have a 986 S with 18 stock Turbo wheels with snows. I mounted these wheels on my cayman this past weekend. No spacers, ample clearance, no problems at all. Only 1 person, Scott from PCA tech, said they would, everyone else said they would not. They do fit. Conrad
