The price of the Porsche repair kit for a bit of wire seems a bit excessive and i'm going to source some much better wire and splice it in.

It was only £125 for the repair section from Porsche which I thought was decent compared to many other parts.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know this is a thing as my car has the symptoms and no doubt will need the wiring fixed. The price of the Porsche repair kit for a bit of wire seems a bit excessive and i'm going to source some much better wire and splice it in. Has anyone got a tutorial or video reference to replacing these wires? I'm perfectly happy to jump in gumboots (wellingtons) and all and document for others, but if some one has done that already, happier to copy

POST 2Original post

Is this the plug that bolts to the hub carrier? Didn't do it myself as electrics are my kryptonite but I had to get mine replaced last year. It was the connector/big black plug socket on the hub that was the issue rather than the wire. It was only £125 for the repair section from Porsche which I thought was decent compared to many other parts.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yup. That's the one. I build wiring looms for all sorts of things so want to mend it. However if it's the connector then I'll be buying the connector kit too. I suspect it's something proprietary

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
