I've checked the pipes near the battery and they are both hot.
Leading evidence: 'Check pipes' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check ambient temp - i explained all in here' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I'll be checking under the dash tomorrow to see if there is any sign of the mixer arm being jammed.

I had the same issue about a year ago, which was resolved by replacing the temperature sensor behind the passenger side airvent.

On a side note I've never been able to use the recirculation button on the air con, as all it does is make a clicking sound under the passenger footwell.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, hope you might be able to share some wisdom.
I have found that there is no heat at all coming from my blower. Even when cranked up to max its just blowing cold air, not even warm.
Was working fine up to the other day. I was working on the stereo over the weekend and wonder if there is anything that might have been blocked as I pushed the stereo back in? Could it be preventing a flap from operating? Meaning hot air can't get to the vent?
I've checked the pipes near the battery and they are both hot.
Any other easy items I can check off? Would it be worth pulling the heater LCD unit out the dash, unplugging it and plugging it back in again (that old classic
)
Thanks
Craig
I had the same issue about a year ago, which was resolved by replacing the temperature sensor behind the passenger side airvent. I recall the part was quite expensive from OPC. If yours proves to be the same problem, then you may still be able to pickup a second hand one for under £30 on ebay or from a breakers.
Arry did a good job of documenting the fix in his thread here:

Yup ..
if this reads 40 degrees then the car will blow cold air .
The max setting is the only bit i would question .. in theory it should override the temp sensor ..
You need to have a tester ( piwis ) connected and look for fault codes along with actual values for the sensors .. takes 10 mins at an Indy to go through these and should be easy enough to find .
On the off chance there are no codes and every temp value is correct then a broken air flap in the heater box is possible ( stuck on cold ).. i would say a blocked matrix but i've never seen this and doubt i ever will .
Sit yourself down sunshine - the sensors are £300+ from Porsche
I managed to pick one up from a Boxster for ~£40 I think, second hand.
Piece of cake to fit, mind.

Thanks for responding guys.
I'll be checking under the dash tomorrow to see if there is any sign of the mixer arm being jammed.
The coolant level is spot on so don't think it's an issue there. Certainly coming across as an electrical issue more than anything.
I took out the interior sesnor earlier today and blew off some dust. The little fan is spinning away fine.
Plugged it all back together but still no heat after running engine for some time.
Will keep testing things out and reply if I get anywhere.
Cheers
Finally the weather is ok, so decided to get under the dash again. Pulled the flimsey foam panel thing away and saw immediately that the RCA cable for the new subwoofer was pinched too tight to the heater mixer flap control arm.
It's the one nearest the center console. Previously I'd thought all the heater control arms etc were on the left hand side of the main aircon box. Needless to say a quick reposition of the cable and a cable tie it was sorted. I now have glorious heat again.
Thanks for you help.
On a side note I've never been able to use the recirculation button on the air con, as all it does is make a clicking sound under the passenger footwell. I can see that control arm is wedged up on the left hand side of the air con box and impossible to get to. Imagine getting to it is a right pain in the back side, involving dismantling pretty much all of air conditioning unit?
