Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I clicked over to manual and back and it came straight back on so o think you're right with your first diagnosis- it needs using a bit more.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Not used the car for a while and noticed this morning that the only light that was working was D. Didn't really pay much attention but when I went to come home the only one that was working was P. R came on very briefly but won't come on again, just P.
Any ideas?
I would guess at an issue with the gear lever assembly .. a bit of wiring info below but wires go direct from the gear lever to the cluster .. as different lights seem to work at different times then i would guess its bad contacts .
Move the lever fully forward and back about 10 or 20 times to see if it gets any better .
You can also check fuse E1 but i doubt its that .
Thanks Demort appreciate your advice. Funny you should say that - I was thinking the shift felt stiffer than I remember it and was whacking it back and forth to see if it freed it up. Only done it half a dozen times though so I'll have another crack tomorrow. Cheers mate
Aghhh ok i see .. the pivot on the gearbox is probably partially seized .. i usually remove strip , grease and refit .. its possible due to the stiff linkage the lever is not centering on the switch to say the position .
Usual fault for this though is a warning transmission fault on the dash but its a possible reason for this .
Edit .. make sure you don't loose the plastic spacers if you do this .. it's easy to do !
I'm so sorry I missed your second reply demort.
I went out earlier to give the lever a good workout and they were all working perfectly! Went out for a spin and the D lamp went out before my very eyes. I clicked over to manual and back and it came straight back on so o think you're right with your first diagnosis- it needs using a bit more.
Thanks again for your help :thumb:
