Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

As it happens I was following a 993 the other day and wondered if changing the colour to black would work?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Evening all, just wanted to gauge opinions regarding spoiler colour. The silver paint on my spoiler is just starting to lift and in the not too distant future may need to be addressed. As it happens I was following a 993 the other day and wondered if changing the colour to black would work? Or is this a ridiculous suggestion. :dont know:

POST 2Original post

Try it with Plasti-dip with a few different masking options (notice the black does go to the spoiler edges but you might need to try a few options to suit the 996) until you get it right then decide. If you really like it remove the Plasti-dip and spray paint it. Post up pics of your results.

POST 3Original post

Ridiculous? No. For me, it works in the pic of the 993 above. A black coloured spoiler certainly looks very effective with 997 and 991 GTS styling, so why not? Your car, your rules.

POST 4Original post

This guy did it (scroll down, keep going) and I think it looks really good: http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=144281&sid=47e1493591d2c191a63e2d8d47c1bf1d

POST 5Original post

Ive done it, dont do the whole thing, just the slats.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers guys. So 10 minutes and a roll of insulation tape has resulted in Quite like it.

POST 9Original post

I like it, it's give it more of an old school look especially as you have ambers.
