Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use some insight' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use some insight' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i just saw cayman with Techart Spring at the VIP autoshow at Los Angeles Convention Center.
I have H&R installed in my car, and i was shocked when i saw that the Techart Springs drop much more at the front. it was 20" and it went halfway of the tire. But the back is much higher than the front, i believe that the gap between tires and fender is the same as my H&R springs.
are you looking for the biggest drop, or trying to avoid springs that will drop the cayman too much? Aftermarket springs will eventually "settle" and lower your cayman even more than after the initial install. Coming from someone that has done the Mod I would encourage you (unless your cayman is just a show car), to not go for the most extreme drop. Even with a conservative drop the front will rub sometimes. Usually not an issue cause its on those little black air foils. You have to really watch concrete parking space blocks and when you park up to a curb "head first" so to speak.
Even dropping the cayman and inch or so really gives the cayman a more agressive stance and wont negatively affect your handling.
Redrocket... my Eibachs go in on Wednesday. You're not regretting getting yours are you?
If i could get 20mm lowering springs I would. I don't want my Cayman to bottom out, stone chip or look like a race car. But I do want it lower.
dt I had Eibachs fitted last week by the same guy who is probably going to do yours.. (Karl the magician at PCM). Aesthetically it is a great improvement on standard, ride is a little firmer and only a small increase in scraping around inner city car parks and that is mostly only the deflectors in front of the front wheels. Does not look like a race car, just looks much more like a Porsche should!
I have the Techart springs on my car with 19" Techart formula wheels. The look to my eye is perfect with a 25mm drop, a little less than the H&Rs. I have not had any problems with scraping or bottoming out, but then again in South Florida there are no potholes or hills. I would not want the car to look any lower, but I did not like the look of the stock suspension at all. I agree that the available Porsche ROW 20mm drop would have been a better all around solution and preferable to aftermarket springs.
well I've been looking into the Techart springs. The standard spring kit lowers 25mm. The complete coil over lowers up to 35mm. The coil over kit is also about $4,500 vs $500 for just springs. I'm going to lower my car for sure i just want to do it right. I don't want any negative camber and a really bouncy ride. i want my car to dive just like now only lower. I also have PASM so I'm pretty sure thats why the price for the coil over is high. How do all you feel about the ride quality after just doing springs??
1961 Russ... yes Karl is doing mine. Glad you like them! I'll be doing a day at Sandown in 2 weeks so I'll be interested to see what difference they make there.
I discussed the issue of springs alone vs. coilovers with Roger Hawley of Orbit Racing here in West Palm Beach. He had lowered a couple of other Caymans and felt that standard suspension (non-PASM) could be lowered around 1" without significant compromise to ride with some modest improvement in handling. That has been my experience since the install in July. I would not assume this experience would apply equally to a PASM suspension.
So your saying in your opinion i should go with the coil overs?
Is there any one out here who has lowered a PASM equipped cayman?? I could really use some insight.
Thanks
