Its looking likely that I will have to replace the manifolds on the C4, due to rusting.

They have been eroded quite badly, so I am expecting to replace the studs, so intend to make a drilling jig, with pilot guides, for drilling what is going to be left of the studs, and subsequent re-tapping.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Its looking likely that I will have to replace the manifolds on the C4, due to rusting. They have been eroded quite badly, so I am expecting to replace the studs, so intend to make a drilling jig, with pilot guides, for drilling what is going to be left of the studs, and subsequent re-tapping. I was intending to scan the face of the manifold, and draw on CAD the plate for laser cutting, but did wonder if this data was already available, (DXF etc.), as it seems a common problem that these corrode away. I have found a pair of 996 2001 manifolds that were from a 3.6 engine car, mine being a 2000 model 3.4, I am assuming these fit, could anyone clarify please?
