Took the car for a drive to get up to temp, oil pressure fine, no smoke, seemed to run okay still a faint ticking.

Seeking a bit of advice. Car not been used for 10 weeks, sat garaged and on a battery tender. I needed to move the car this afternoon, started fine but a loud ticking noise. Sounded like it's coming from offside, didn't settle down after I let it run for a couple of minutes. Took the car for a drive to get up to temp, oil pressure fine, no smoke, seemed to run okay still a faint ticking. Car is an '02 3.6 serviced less than 50 miles ago, 65k and in good condition. Do you think it could be a sticky lifter or chain tensioner or something else?? Cheers

Put some Wynn's Hydraulic valve lifter Treatment in the oil. A stick lifter is a likely possibility.

FYI, mine's not been used since start of December, so today I took it for a damn good thrashing (once warmed up) Parked up to post some letters and the front wheels were caked in rusty brake dust. My "bad" for not driving it properly earlier - but I was firing it up on the driveway. As above really - and then really give it a ragging (imho) they need it at the moment.
