Not only are people dubious about fitting used wear parts to cars but most Indys (including your back street lads) won't fit them for people anymore as it invalidates their

On the breaking side, as I now don't plan to replace the car I'm in no particular rush to release any equity from it and I'm sure I will release more cash this way albeit over a longer period than selling the job lot

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

No experience here but sorry to see it may have to come to that.
Guess it depends on your ability to break and if the time invested would be worth it vs. selling as a whole package.
My brother has broken quite a few motorbikes and sold parts, got good prices but they were classic bike parts, but you need time, space and the willingness as even the bikes took ages so can only imagine with a whole car....he said the listing and then the hassle of posting and many trips to post-office or courier is why he'd not do it again!
good luck though if you do go that route and sorry to have read about the engine :thumb:
I can imagine the packaging and shipping side is a pain in the bum, as for the actual breaking and cleaning up I reckon I will quite enjoy that side.
I have the time, and I have the space and I'm not in any particular rush to sell the parts as I don't need the money and I'm not in any rush to get the money.
Wow, he sounds charming, I will look out for him. In no way do I want anyone to be on the receiving end of his nefarious tactics.

The in-demand parts will sell quickly for a good price, and you will be left with 75% of it kicking around for ages taking up space. You need a lot of space and time and no rush to get your money back. No way I would do it.

I've had quite a few people interested in as it is however with the wheel arches starting to bubble I doubt I would see much more than 5-6 bags.
With the big ticket items such a headlamps, rear reflector, seats, wheels/tyres, shocks etc etc I should over time make that much.
Add that to all the other various bits and bobs I should do ok by undercutting all the eBay prices.
I'm in no hurry, I have a double garage and outside space. I love taking things to bits!
I wouldn't put much hope in getting decent prices for any suspension parts. Not only are people dubious about fitting used wear parts to cars but most Indys (including your back street lads) won't fit them for people anymore as it invalidates their

. I was talking to one of my local Indys about it last year and he made a point of absolutely no chance, even for mates.
As you say, if you sell it as it is you will get £5-6k. Alternatively you can put a lot of time and effort in to breaking it and get £5-6k and a pile of junk as a momento.
