Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi - I don't have low beams but I do have power at fuse A9 and A10. What is the order the power goes through to get to the headlights? i.e. battery > switch > fuse > light stalk? > relay? > lights With power at the fuse my switch seems to be ok. Is that correct? Thanks for any and all assistance. GG

Sorry, this is a 2000 996 Carrera2, no xenon

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

...aaaand it is fixed. BOTH low beam bulbs were kaput. Probably had something to do with my alternator (not just the regulator) going out and needing replacement. Maybe some kind of surge took them both out at the same time. Now I have a spare headlight switch and voltage regulator. The inventory is increasing.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good point. Definitely have fogs which are wired as DRLs, and park lights but I'll do a walk around tonight.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
