I have had my C4S for 6 months now and it had a 997 shifter installed when I purchased it. While the shifter was great (apparently 15% less throw than a standard 996 shifter) I was curious about how much difference a GT3 SS kit would feel. So I found a good deal on the shifter and it was just installed. All I can say is wow, short positive feel and incredibly deliberate! At the same time, I installed the Rennline Sport Engine Mounts and the Function First Transmission bushings. I have transformed the feel of the car and am very happy with the results! Anyone need a 997 shifter?

Is there a 997 gt3 SSK that is different that the standard 997 GT3 shifter? I have the 996 SSK and recently bought a 997.2 GT3 shifter, and from what I understand, the GT3 shifter is identical to the 997 shifter, with the exception that it has all metal bushings. I have not heard of a GT3 SSK, but I could be misinformed.

The shifter I have is a 996 GT3 Short Shifter or that is what I was told when I bought it from a fellow rennlister. It does have the metal bushings and it has a dramatically shorter throw than the standard 997 shifter I had in the car. Like I said before, it is very direct.

You probably have this - the GT3 version. There is a 997 SSK which may be slightly shorter throw but I have always been good reports about what you installed. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/997SCU.html
