Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Paint needs some attention (stone chips, keyed previously on offside rear haunch and drivers door and poorly repair).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I picked up my first Porsche this afternoon. Midnight Blue 996.2 Manual. Drive home was great even though the weather turned and become very wet heading South West) car felt epic. Only one slight niggle is a bodged paint repair on what looks like vandalism damage (keyed) along the top of the drivers door and rear haunch. Orange peel and no depth of shine, so one job on the list. Looks like a repaint for the door and rear panel. I was aware of a number of paint chips and will get those done as well. Any recommendation for the South West Area Sherborne \ Yeovil etc?

POST 2Original post

Hey, congrats on the car! Nice colour in midnight blue - what's your interior?

POST 5Original post

Love it. Exactly what I'm looking for myself. I'm even starting to prefer the simpler 996 interior without the myriad of dated and pointless PCM buttons. Was it a private or trade sale?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not really done much yet, have all the suspension bits and new coil overs to fit (Suspension was tired as original 20yr, 90K parts). I did pay top money for it (private sale) as the OPC history and MOT info was comprehensive. The po had spent somewhere in the region of £5K on the usual issues (rads, IMS,RMS, clutch etc) There was no suspension works (apart from drop links) in the history hence why I'm doing the work (one of the rear shocks had a leak anyway). Paint needs some attention (stone chips, keyed previously on offside rear haunch and drivers door and poorly repair). Love it, analogue and raw driving experience. Previously owned 6 TVR's (not all at the same time):thumb:
