Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, my name is Tim and instead of only reading I thought it was time to introduce myself. I drive in a 2004 996 C4S which for me is a dream come true and I absolutely love the car. I am thinking about tinting my rear windows not completely black but just a little darker compared toe oem. I noticed that that not that much C4S actually have had this done why?

POST 2Original post

I would guess most owners don't like tints so that's why not many have it. But, it's your car so do what YOU like 👍🏻

POST 3Original post

:welcome: to 911uk, and nice looking C4S. Window tinting is not something that receives much discussion on here, not sure what other forums have either. Do you notice many 911's in Euroland that have darkened their rear windows? There is an old thread from from several years ago, posted below, and you can see that the idea doesn't seem to be a popular one. Attitudes do change over time so who knows there may be take up for the idea. :dont know: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=84468&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20

POST 4Original post

Welcome  As above, bottom line it's your car so tint the windows if that's what you want to do, But as you've found tinted windows are not that common on Porsche's, IMHO the rear side windows are best used for looking in at a roll cage :thumb:
