Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Glad to hear it's fixed, didn't see this thread before but I had one running about 2 years ago, vent valve changed been ok ever since.

After 1 year of nagging the dealer they finally dismantled the car and replaced the fuel filler assembly.

Suggestion
I have had it happen on occasion but I assumed it was because the fill sensor in the pump wasn't operating properly.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

He's even tried a used one, but that one was broken so didn't work.
Just recently when I fed my Cayman with a tasty dose of Premium fuel it has made a habit of coughing it back at me. The little devil! Well she never did that before until a few months ago.
The filler keeps clicking and handful of regurgitated fuel is the reply.
Anybody else had that problem?
So far the doctor says nothing is wrong with her internals, but the master knows otherwise  .
I think that is usually more a problem with the gas pump/nozzle isn't it? I have had it happen on occasion but I assumed it was because the fill sensor in the pump wasn't operating properly. Do you always use the same pump?
That happened to me for the first time yesterday, very odd. I assumed I'd read the gauge wrong and was overfilling but no the tank is only three quarters full so why the is the fuel being belched back up???
You have a new 2010?
From the GT3 boards:
Many new GT3 owners are seeing the same issue. I'm sure it's the same part on the new Caymans.

new gt3 refueling issues...... - ******** Discussion Forums
As to why I've been soaking up all the GT3 info I can, I plead the 5th Amendment and refuse to incriminate myself....
The design shouldn't be that different hopefully. Are you still within the warranty period in the UK? Maybe this info will give you something to goto the service manager with.
Yeah true. As this is the first time it's happened to me I'm going to run this tank and refill to see if it was a one off or not. If not it's going straight in to the dealer... Thx again
Ps Warranty is worth every penny on these cars, thankfully I'm still in mine, phew!!
I'm not a cayman owner (planning to be), however,
my Mazda do the same when the car is hot or after a long journey, it was annoying me everytime I fill it, but once I asked the guy who works in the station and he explained that the tank is hot and evaporating some gas so it keeps shuting the nozzle...
I never had this problem with my ex-golf, so I will asume it's design malfunction...
Update
Update:
10 months ago this problem could not be fixed and it was all my fault
.
After 1 year of nagging the dealer they finally dismantled the car and replaced the fuel filler assembly.
Result: FIXED!!!!
A small kink in the breather tube was the issue.
I'm having the same issue, only owned the car a couple of months, but trying to put gas in it without it spitting it all back up at me is a challenge. I have started a new Thread about it as my Indy Tech thinks it's the charcoal canister but says he can't get a replacement because they are discontinued and no one can find one. He's even tried a used one, but that one was broken so didn't work. He's trying to make one for me, in the meantime. Why in the world would Porsche discontinue this, when they use it in SO many vehicles?
