Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Thanks for the info, I'm guessing its easier to replace my existing cdr22 for an identical cdr22 (only thinking this coz some of the buttons are worn on the surface) or go for a current becker unit that is bluetooth and ipod compatible.

I was mulling that route, but decided in the end to run with a Becker Grand Prix or somesuch.

Suggestion · Original poster

I know the CDR23 is MOST bus / CAN bus but it does have a dual option on the rear so that you can use analogue wiring loom.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know the CDR23 is MOST bus / CAN bus but it does have a dual option on the rear so that you can use analogue wiring loom. My question is what about the aerial? This is a strange connector, I could re-wire it to conventional type but just wondered if anyone knew to a converter?

POST 2Original post

I was told that it was not possible, but as you say, with a dual connector. Sundeep's GT3 had a CDR23, and when he removed it, the optical connector had been taped over anyway, IIRC. Have you got one? I was mulling that route, but decided in the end to run with a Becker Grand Prix or somesuch. Nice to stay OE though.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I do have one and tried it. It most certainly has both analogue ISO connectors plus MOST BUS optical output, just cover the optical with PVC tape. I can not get radio signal due to the strange type of connector for aerial-jack. I may be able to wire it but would rather a converter. Other option would be to get the aerial and lead from a MY02> car.

POST 4Original post

can I swap the standard cdr22 in my 99 carerra for a cdr23? cheers N

POST 5Original post

i have a cdr23 head unit, CD changer and bose amp going if anyone is interested.......all MOST.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You will need to deactivate the MOST signal - DND services (Google for more details) can decode the MOST for £45 NOTE: This will only work on the CDR23 (there are a couple of different types) with built in amp. Serial number BE6612 has no internal amp and will need the seperate amp, changer and Orange cable (MOST cable) to complete the loop. Upto 2002 models are non-MOST which means the unit will not receive it's required security signal from the ignition, this where the decode comes in Some one just posted a complete set up for sale. Sorry if Im not making sense,,,, been a very long day... right, off to bed.

I want to keep an oem look to the dash To summarise if your car is pre 2002 then most is not an issue and you can fit pretty well any head unit except the cdr 23 as its a pain in the proverbial because its most? cheers N

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nail on the head chap... I would lean to Becker Grand Prix etc How much would you want for your old CDR22? I could do with some internals. Cheers Lloyd
