Cheers Richard, can the booster spring be changed easily as I do have a creaking clutch pedal.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Went down to Cirencester today and saw a nice pristine Red GT2 near M4 junction 15 - 'HAV', I think was part of the registration number.
Anway, had a nice ride back except when I got close to home, I pulled out of a side road and when i released the clutch pedal it stayed half way down after I removed my foot. My first thought was oh sh*t there's a grand down the pan
I then engaged my brain and put my foot under the pedal and sure enough it flipped back up to normal position. For the rest of my journey everything proved to be normal.
Has anyone experienced this problem or have any idea what it might be that stopped my clutch pedal springing back :?:
Cheers Ray
:bandit: :thumb:
Hopefully just a one-off (until it happens again....). Have you had any creaking noises from the pedal? That's usually caused by the booster spring.
I also found this in a TSB which might be something to do with it:
Vehicle Type: 911 Carrera (996)/ 911 Carrera 4 (996)/ 911 GT3 (996)
Model Year: As of '99 (X)
Concerns: Hydraulic clutch actuation and installing snap ring in the groove of the plug-in couplings of the clutch pipeline.
Information: With hydraulic clutch actuation, the clutch pedal may not return to its initial position or may become stuck as a result of the axial play in the plug-in couplings of the clutch pipeline (Figure 1, Items 1, 2 and 3). The axial motion in the plug-in couplings and the associated rolling of the sealing ring can admit air into the hydraulic system.
In the event of a complaint, a snap ring, Part Number, 999 230 685 40, must be fitted in the groove of the plug-in couplings in the area of the plenum chamber, underbody and transmission (Figure 1, Items 1, 2 and 3). The clutch system must then be bled. The procedure for fitting the snap rings is described starting on Page 2.
