Raby only allows genuine Porsche motor mounts to be installed on the car's that have his engines.
Leading evidence: 'Install on the car's' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). When I still owned my 996, I installed Wevo Yellow engine mounts.

The OP did durometer tests - stiffness or resilience, dunno what it really is, and posted results as tested on his own 996.

a few years ago, well ok, maybe 10, there was a thread about using solid rubber motor mounts vs the gel-filled Porsche mounts.

Suggestion
I would suggest sticking with OEM mounts based on the testing done with semi-soild/solid mounts.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've tried a search with no luck here in RL.
a few years ago, well ok, maybe 10, there was a thread about using solid rubber motor mounts vs the gel-filled Porsche mounts. I think they were Ford, I'm trying to track down a part number for those mounts. Can anyone help?
thanks

I would suggest sticking with OEM mounts based on the testing done with semi-soild/solid mounts. Lot's of good info on this site related to the downside of SS mounts.
I would second gbarron's suggestion and recommendation. A lot of data has been collected over the past ten years. The OE Porsche engine mounts are what is recommended. SS or solid mounts wreak havoc on the 996 M96 engine knock sensors in particular. Check with LN Engineering and Flat Six Innovations, they are the experts.
I really appreciate your feed back. Mine were replaced with these about 10-12 years ago and they worked FANTASTIC.
however this time I am mounting a flat bed on my ford truck and they would make perfect vibration dampers on this project.
I usd OEM, but filled them up with Polyurethane sealant and let them dry for a couple of days before mounting them. It made a huge difference on the handling of the car and no negative issues, they have been on the car for over 3 years now.
I got a set of 964 RS mount kit from RennPart. I removed semi solids in favor of these, worth it to me and the price is right if you use the URO model.

I saw a thread that someone took OEM worn engine mounts and filled them with different kinds (brands) of urethane. The OP did durometer tests - stiffness or resilience, dunno what it really is, and posted results as tested on his own 996.
The "Best" result and very near OEM new engine mounts was 3M Window Weld # 08609. Cure for 2-3 days and it worked perfectly. The OP had pics of where/how to apply 08609 and so on. It is a very low cost solution for "Refurb OEM Engine Mounts", costs about $30 for 1 tube/2 mounts IIRC. Other urethane products are too soft, fall apart, or simply don't work. Mounts were stiffer, noticeably better, and did not upset the 996 knock-sensor nannie. Interesting.
Whatever, I am going to give it a try and see if OK results. I do not think this "fix" is intended to be like Semi-Solid or Solid engine mounts. Just something to try, why not?
YMMV
Porsche tax for OEM mounts hence the URO option being the better one, it comes with all new bolts and washers.
I don't believe there's a better option to be honest.
When I still owned my 996, I installed Wevo Yellow engine mounts. They were a nice improvement over my worn OE mounts. I recommend them as an option to consider.
From Function First site:
" FUNCTION-FIRST Performance Engine Mount upgrades
brand new
OEM engine mounts by adding a pocket of urethane in the bottom voids to moderately increase the stiffeness of the mounts and prevent them from prematurely sagging. The result is a rejuvenated and
sportier setup
, akin to a semi-solid mount, that remains compliant for street use. "

I've used their 987 Trans mounts, engine inserts, Shift bushings, and Shift cable ends. Seems like a great OE+ option.
