think i might have to replace the head unit at some point, any sugestions, one with ipod and bluetooth would be great, providing i dont have to change lots of wires, amp etc...

Hi,
I have a recently bought a 996 cab, Im in love and i wished i had bought a porsche years ago.
i have a minor problem with the standard Porsche / Becker CDR22 Head unit.
My wife took the car out and now the volume button doesnt work.
It will still Mute
When you move it left or right, the display flicks between 13 and 14 but no more...
very strange....
Any advice

I'm afraid I don't have the same audio unit, so don't know the answer to that one - I'm sure someone will be along in a minute...
I am not sure if these is a Mute button on the CD22 ? Do you have a manual ? or I will grab mine out and have a read through for you..

Update...
Took the radio out, had a fiddle with the Knob, took knob off, put it back on..... No Jokes please
and now it works!

Nope.. Just pull the old one out, and plug in the new one. This is one of the reasons I went for it. It uses the same ISO plugs that the Porsche dash has.
The only pain (in mine) was where to put the I-Pod lead.. It ended up under the passenger carpet.
Great unit, I have been very happy with it.
Does the plastic surround match as well as the original cdr22 unit and also is the cdr23 ok to fit without modification?
I have a 99 carrera btw
