Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My car is a 98,it has had PSE fitted 3 years ago.....
Leading evidence: 'Install 3 years ago' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install 3 years ago' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Right, after replacing my air filter today I looked down to the exhaust and see these (2) 'plugs/sensors' but with the wires chopped off!

I would emagine it has had the cats replaced with 2002 onwards type catalysts which have OBD-II requirement (rear Lambda).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Right, after replacing my air filter today I looked down to the exhaust and see these (2) 'plugs/sensors' but with the wires chopped off! What are they and why would they be chopped are these integral for the car?
I have PSE if that makes a difference?
Also I have this mysterious switch located to the left of your left leg in the drivers footwell! Any ideas? Iv switched it to '1' and nothting happens in or outside the car?
Last thing, I have this strange box located in the front bumper passenger side with a loom coming of ity just flopping around, what the hell is it?
Any help with the above would be greatly appreciated.
my guesses...
1st one, lambda or oxygen sensors for the Cats? :dont know:
2nd one, umm, cut off switch, try switching to '0' and starting the car, does it start? Failing that just pop off the side panel and have a look where it goes, the panel comes off easily... :dont know:
3rd, not a clue, the only sensor I know in that area is the outside temp sensor and it doesn't look anything like that? As a side note though you need to clean out those rads, looks pretty messy in there, get a hoover in there or better still take the bumper off :thumb:
1st, lambda or oxygen sensors (has the car got sport cats?)
2nd, an engine cut out, an amp turn on (the CD22 does not this facility, so a turn on switch would be needed)
3rd, no idea ? is there a part number on it ??
I am not too sure of any of them !!
Part of the extra emission controls involved in new cars involves having o2/lambda sensors before and after the cats to allow for determining when they have failed / working correctly. I've read a couple of threads on the US sites about people removing either the pre or post for some reason I can't remember. I doubt it will affect fuel economy assuming you still have one per side. Most people don't realise they actually have a limited life and replacement at around 60,000kms will improve fuel economy due to a better functioning sensor.
2. & 3. i have a similar arrangement for my after market 'parking' sensor
So i can discreetly switch it off should it interfere with any law enforcement tech
The last picture, of the little black box is a laser jamming device. You should have one present on the other side. I do wonder if that switch on the centre console is possibly connected to the hardware for the device.
I have two present in the plastic mesh grill at each side of the number plate. The hardware for in the cabin is missing sadly in mine.
See foto's.
Yes very James bond when i hit the stock porsche blank switch next to the sunroof and you get the arming beeps
I had mine stealthed to the blank console switch on the turbo and the H/wash to the RSR
Interesting, my friend has this on his car, but wondered how to check that it was functioning correctly. anyone know :?:
And yes he does have the box in the car with the beeper, but it's never gone off apart from switch on
Ray :bandit:
Yep, laser jammers on the front
I assume your car is pre 2002?
I would emagine it has had the cats replaced with 2002 onwards type catalysts which have OBD-II requirement (rear Lambda). Upto 2002 does not have rear Lamda's hence the chopped wires.
98 car is OBD and only has 2 Lambda sensors.
It looks to me like at some point the car has had replacement cats taken off a 2001 onwards car which would be OBD-II this means 4 Lambda sensors.
The physical cats are similar, the only difference is the 2 extra Lambda sensors hence they have been left in place (otherwise you'd have threaded holes!)
Answer to question: Yes they should be cut.
In my opinion that looks ugly. I can get proper bungs, take out the Lambdas, fit in these bungs and it will look factory again. £10 inc. postage for the pair.
