Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Figure 5. The oil fill tube on a 996-1 is held in a clip and can be elevated to facilitate oil refill. The clip is adjacent to the tech's ring finger in figure 6. POST 2Original post

Yes indeed! I always like to get the filler out of that clip. We appreciate your feedback. - Casey

POST 3Original post

Good tip. Be careful handling the oil fill goose-neck tho. They get fragile and the accordion section will split. Mine did and I had to replace it. As time goes by, the plastic parts in the engine compartment want to crack. I use the clear silicone aerosol spray on all the rubber and plastic components. Been doing it for decades and it helps save the elasticity of the parts. Actually mine was split when I bought the 996. Not hard to replace.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
