Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys The keyfob button has stopped unlocking/locking the car. Pressing it does not show any light on the keyfob so I am suspecting battery on the key has gone? Do I just open it and replace the battery in the key? How do I open it? Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

It should just prise apart - there's a small tab on one side - if you get your thumbnail in there it should be easy. Cheers, Nigel EDIT:- a good source of the CR2032 batteries is here . One of the cheapest sources of batteries I've found and they do quick delivery.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Before I saw your post I ended up buying from buyabattery.co.uk - around £2.50 for a Duracell one delivered Also in addition to that going to get a spare key cut only (without the fob bit) for £30 from http://www.greenfordsecurity.co.uk/

POST 4Original post

It's really, really easy. You can also replace part of the fob if the button has split. Do a search on here for key fob and GD as the author for the detailed instructions....really, really easy. So easy, even I could do it!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

lol i opened it far too easily - now the damn things wont fully close! as for getting just a blade cut without the keyfob - they told me it wont start the engine as the microchip would be missing - so didnt bother getting a key cut that can only open a door called up porsche twice to find out the price of a key replacement but just got the service desks voicemail.. lets c if he calls back
